We have developed a product called Talk The Walk, this is useful to groups who may not want to do a walk, so we come and talk about one of our walks. we have delivered this programme to Friendship groups and local Women's institute groups.

This programme covers topics such as , local history, legends, stories of characters.

Our current offering is the Quaker History and sites in Leominster.

 

Wye Valley Tour, Follow in the steps of William Wordsworth as we make our way down the Wye Valley, this was described as the start of British Tourism. 

 

Cider Tours, join us on a tour of some of the 105 Cider producers in the county. 


Historic walks around from Hereford Cathedral in the steps of Kings, Bishops, Actors Composer's and Commoners.

Price per walk or option is £5 per person, so you can mix and match your options, for a maximum cost of £10 per person.

 

The Walks

Option1.

Join us on a short walk from the cathedral into Hereford City, hear stories about Ghostly going's-on .Hear stories of people attending concerts during the Three Choirs Festival with out a Ticket !!!.

You may get to meet a well known actress, selling oranges and her lover earnestly seeking her out.
Distance 1.5 miles

Option 2.

We take a walk along the river Wye, to Breinton Springs, an old route for pilgrims to the cathedral. Also path well walked by Edward Elgar.
Distance 6.5 miles

Tower Tour.
Then climb the 218 to the top of the Cathedral Tower and look over the land you have just walked on. Including the Lantern Galley and the Ringing Chamber. Extensive views from the top from the Malvern Hills to the Brecon Beacons (additional charges apply).

Other Options.
If you or you partner do want to walk far , there are plenty of other options within the Cathedral.

The Mappa Mundi and Chained Library Exhibition

The Hereford Mappa Mundi is the largest surviving complete medieval world map and is displayed alongside the famous chained library with manuscripts dating from the 8th century. Also a copy of the Magna Carta, and the sole surviving copy of the Kings Writ issued by King John instructing recipients to ensure the terms of the charter are made known publically, sworn and kept.
